Seven months of constant demonstrations.

Yesterday I was reminded by a comrade that we have now been demonstrating outside Ashton Under a Lyne Jobcentre for seven months. We have been there every Thursday and have been there in all weathers. Why do we continue you may ask? Someone said to me recently you aren’t making a difference. I can say the opposite, we are making a difference. Our presence has started the process of the DWP being held responsible for their actions. They of course don’t like this, but we aren’t there for them we are there for the victims of their cruel regime. The DWP got very nervous, not because we are violent, far from it. We aren’t aggressive but we are peaceful. We have one thing in common exposing the lies and the crimes in our eyes that are committed inside that building and others. They called us into a meeting, even tried to dictate to us how we could talk and where we could sit. We didn’t give in to their intimidation tactics, of course they denied everything but we have been proven to be truthful.

As a result people up and down the country started to take notice and that includes the media. The media have become very interested. Why? Because there are grave injustices being committed inside these buildings they call Jobcentres everyday. Ive been very lucky to be able to have my findings published in the morning star newspaper, Ive also had the odd thing posted in the mirror and the guardian. However I feel our biggest achievement so far is working with dispatches on their two recent programmes. At first I was nervous, I didn’t want any claimants being portrayed ina negative way. Their life’s are hard enough without this. But the producers assured me that it wouldn’t be like that and I agreed. As a result two fantastic programmes were made. Why are they so fantastic? Because they showed the reality of the situation and this is what we deal with every Thursday and in our advice sessions on Tuesday’s .

We also help people with their claims and the problems associated with this. We also help people to appeal. I was recently told by someone that we don’t do enough to help and we should be helping people to take the government to court. Yes we do encourage this but our priority is stopping someone from starving or committing suicide. We have done this three times to our knowledge. My local council have called me a bag lady who should be inside the Job centre looking for a job instead of standing outside. I find that very insulting towards all homeless people up and down the country, and if this person actually knew what job centres were like they would also know that you cannot just walk into a job centre and look for work anymore. It’s far more complicated now.

Will we carry on? Yes we will continue to be there from 1-3 every Thursday. People depend on us being there. I for one will never stop this campaign until this whole regime stops. One death is a death too many.  I’d like to thank my comrades for supporting me and each other we all have a common cause to raise awareness and to stop this. I would like to thank the Green Party for supporting me with this. I am standing in the parlimentary elections and the local elections again for the Green Party. I want change and a fairer society. Is that too much too ask for? No I don’t think so. Each and every one of us can make massive changes to this world if we want to. Please join us in our fight against this system and the quest to help as much as we can.

  1. If it wasn’t for people like yourselves who are working to support the vulnerable throughout the UK, then there would have been many more deaths.

Social workers and social services used to provide this kind of support, but when I approached them a few years back they said they don’t do this anymore.

I don’t live in your area, and haven’t used your services, but I want to say a big thank you for all that you do. It is encouraging to read your posts and to know that there are many people out there who are actively engaged in trying to stop the abuses meted out to the poor and the vulnerable due to welfare reform and media propaganda.

  2. Reblogged this on glendrixglendenning1 and commented:
These people are actually doing something, they are standing up for what they believe is right. This takes courage and I have a lot of admiration for them. I am also impressed that the writer of the blog is standing for the Green Party – which together with the SNP, Plyd, Respect and other parties of the left, offer a genuine alternative to the mainstream offering of Austerity, with more austerity on the side : (bit like a sort of political version of the Python Spam song – minus the humour).

  3. WELL DONE

The few people who offer help to the starving and the suicidal are vital, such as yourself.

UNIVERSAL CREDIT – THE WORSE TO COME

The poorest people losing benefit also lose National Insurance Credits.

The poorest part time workers will get hit by Universal Credit, when they too will be sanctioned for not gaining full time hours.

And under UC the sanctioning will become permanent from the Hardship Payments changing to a recoverable loan against any future benefit and / or earned income.

This will also hit the low income self employed.

NATIONAL INSURANCE DOES NOT COVER EVERYONE

The poorest workers under zero hour contracts and the salary sacrifice system, fall out of the welfare state by being below the lower entitlement level where you do not get automatic NI credits.

THE NIL STATE PENSION COMING FOR THE POOREST

The flat rate pension for those with a state pension payout age on and from
6 April next year, 2016, do not get any state pension at all for less than 10 years NI history, whereas now you get something for 1 year NI record.

I have noticed that the poorest people either sanctioned off unemployment benefit or working without NI credits being granted have not realised they face
NIL STATE PENSION FOR LIFE from the flat rate state pension,
as the reasons for signing my petition seem not to be these huge numbers of men and women.

So many poor lose out from the flat rate state penson, that it cannot be called single tier without a sneer of derision.

Because the flat rate state pension is the beginning of the end of the state pension to those who only have that money as food money in old age.

So nil benefit and nil state pension is looming. A bit like me amongst many, many
    men and women.

See why under my petitition, in my WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT section, at:

  4. I note from a comment that the writer of this blog is running as a Green party candidate, in a Labour stronghold of Ashton under Lyne, but cannot find any mention of The Greens standing in that constituency on the internet.

THE GREENS’ ONLY PREDICTED TO WIN IN 1 AREA

The Greens did have a solution to all this benefit cruelty causing starvation and suicide,
but chickened out of what would have given them a landslide victory and
not just Brighton Pavliion for current MP in parliament Caroline Lucas and maybe Norwich South (but socialists running in that area a better bet to help the starving – Class War).

    GREENS’ LOST WINNING CARD

    – Citizen Income, automatic and universal, replacing all benefit, at a guaranteed £72 per week for all.

    — Citizen State Pension, irregardless again of NI record, instead of all the losses coming from the flat rate state pension, leaving the poorest with nil state pension.

THE TORIES ARE PLANNING TO STAY EVEN IF LOSE

Because now so few people will bother to put pencil cross to paper on 7 May, that we will get the most severe hung parliament in UK history.

The Tories are now talking of staying in power with Prime Minister Cameron even if Tory MPs lose their seats in a caretaker government. So at the moment we could get an even less voted in Tory government ruling for the next 5 years.

THE LEFT WILL NOT GET SUFFICIENT

A government needs a group of parties granting 323 MPs to be able to rule UK’s government.

Labour, even with SNP and Plaid Cymru of Wales and the 1 or 2 Greens MPs, will not achieve 323 MPs in London UK’s parliament.

THE POOR HAVE NEVER HAD SO MUCH POWER AND SO MUCH TO LOSE IF THEY DO NOT PUT PENCIL CROSS IN THE BOX ON 7 MAY

The poorest people, in or out of work, disabled or able bodied, of all ages, face the end of the welfare state and state pension, leaving them in penniless starvation.

The Tories intend to cut even the current lowest state pension of all rich nations to pensioners already getting the state pension.

And cutting council grants from the high of £14 billion it was in 2010, down to around a mere £2 billion for the whole country by 2020.

WHO COULD ACHIEVE THWARTING THE TORIES?

SMALL SOCIALIST PARTIES WHO COULD MAKE LABOUR TURN LEFT

There are small socialist parties out there who offer far more than The Greens and could do far more to bring about a Labour shared partnership.

There are small socialist parties running in marginal Tory and Lib Dem seats with slim majorities in England, the most populous nation of the UK nations.

    These are:

    – Trade Unionist and Socialist Coalition (TUSC)
(anti austerity ex Labour MPs and councillors and running 111 candidates)

    – Class War – mostly in London
    Double dole and pension

    – Socialist party of Great Britain (Socialist GB)
in the other Brighton area of Brighton Kempton for example

    – Mebyon Kernow of Cornwall
(The Tories and Lib Dems have the most slim majorities in Cornwall)

    THE MOST SEVERE HUNG PARLIAMENT
BY FEWEST COMING OUT TO VOTE

The poor have never had so much power as they do on 7 May, because the fewest voters will come out to vote and this helps small parties.

THE POOR OUTNUMBER ALL OTHER VOTERS IN MANY AREAS OF ENGLAND

    The poor can achieve
a Labour / 1 or 2 Greens / Plaid Cymru / SNP / TUSC / Class War / Socialist GB and Mebyon Kernow arm’s length coaliton of support and confidence,
which reduce Tory and maybe even wipe out the Lib Dems in England
and give a socialist government an unassailable majority to rule.

As the poor now outnumber all other voters in many of these marginals in England, they could achieve this on 7 May.

The logos of these new MPs that would save lives by utterly changing Labour back to the party it once was, are on my little website:

Put a pencil cross by those logos and stop the fear in yours and others’ lives tomorrow.

    1. I suggest you check the Green Party website for all candidates. We hope to be standing someone in every ward for the Nationals and the locals. I stood in the locals last year and did a lot better than expected. People are very unhappy with our local labour council and quite rightly so. They are even more un happy with this conservative government. Full details of all candidates for all parties will be published in the local newspapers in the near future.
